Resident Evil: Afterlife

SHE’S BACK… AND SHE’S BRINGING A FEW FRIENDS.

After meeting Claire (Ali Larter), who suffers from amnesia, in Alaska, Alice (Milla Jovovich) takes her on a small plane and flies to Los Angeles where they meet a group of survivors. The fourth film in the series is in 3D and has Paul W.S. Anderson back at the helm. Not that it makes any difference. A few nice shots of a postapocalyptic future and several characters from the games make appearances. But they add nothing special and every fight looks like cutting-room leftovers from The Matrix (1999).

2010-U.K.-Germany-France-Canada. 97 min. Color. Widescreen. Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. Cast: Milla Jovovich (Alice), Ali Larter (Claire Redfield), Wentworth Miller (Chris Redfield), Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta.

Trivia: Followed by Resident Evil: Retribution (2012).
