Dexter: New Blood

AVERAGE

LONG TIME NO SPREE.

When Dexter ended its seven-year run, critics and audiences were far from happy, so this limited series was a second chance to get things right. Reconnecting with the last scene of the original show, we’re reintroduced to the lead character, a retired serial killer who’s swapped sunny Miami for a wintry upstate New York town; the arrival of potential new enemies/victims and, surprisingly, his troubled teenage son (Jack Alcott) poses great challenges for Dexter. The new Dark Passenger may be an illogical touch, but this is a well-staged comeback, with thrills and a satisfying finale.

2021-U.S. 521 min. Color. Developed by Clyde Phillips. Cast: Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan/Jim Lindsay), Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan), Julia Jones (Angela Bishop), Johnny Sequoyah, Alano Miller, Jennifer Carpenter… Clancy Brown, John Lithgow.

Trivia: Originally shown in ten episodes.
