A miniseries covering the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic and the British government’s inadequate response, where some of the blame might be attributed to an arrogant ideology, as symbolized by then-chief adviser to the Prime Minister Dominic Cummings. Ironically, the scandal involving Cummings would soon be overshadowed by Partygate, so this account is by no means definitive. Accepting Kenneth Branagh as Boris Johnson, covered in unconvincing prosthetics, isn’t easy, but the intense depiction of struggling health-care workers throws us right back into the worst days of the pandemic.
