IN THE BEGINNING…

An epic struggle between two groups of aliens on Earth, Eternals and Deviants, ends in the 1520s… only to come roaring back to life 500 years later. After winning Oscars for Nomadland (2020), Chloé Zhao made the worst entry in the MCU saga to date, a turgid adventure with an uneven bunch of individual Eternals, an arid story and action sequences that never deliver the kind of kick in the gut that we expect. Still, the epic journey through time has potential and there are scattered moments of fun.
