Ten years after the events in Enchanted (2007), Giselle and Robert (Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey) move with their kids to a suburban town where nothing feels right; an unfortunate wish transforms their existence. Once again we’re thrown between fairy tales and the real world, this time subjecting Giselle to the challenge of not turning into a wicked stepmother. A perfect chance for Adams, who’s wonderful, to poke fun at not only singing princesses but also their natural enemies. The film itself is pretty but bloated, with songs and ideas that are less memorable this time round.

2022-U.S. VOD. Part Animated. 118 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Adam Shankman. Songs: Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz. Cast: Amy Adams (Giselle), Patrick Dempsey (Robert Phillip), Maya Rudolph (Malvina Monroe), Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Gabriella Baldacchino… Idina Menzel, James Marsden.

Trivia: Co-produced by Adams and Barry Sonnenfeld; co-executive produced by Shankman.
