CIA officer Alice Racine (Noomi Rapace) is working undercover in London when she’s ordered to interrogate a captured courier… but everything is not what it seems. Michael Apted’s last film is an old-fashioned spy thriller where we follow an agent who has a bloody failure in her past and now must figure out whom to trust. The final twist comes as anything but a surprise and the story (about terrorism and biological warfare) is strictly formulaic; Rapace’s uninspired performance doesn’t help. Still, some of the action and familiar faces in the cast compensate.

2017-U.S.-U.K. 98 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Michael Apted. Cast: Noomi Rapace (Alice Racine), Orlando Bloom (Jack Alcott), Toni Collette (Emily Knowles), John Malkovich, Michael Douglas, Brian Caspe.

Trivia: Mikael Håfström was first hired to direct.
