A fictionalized limited series made in collaboration with Sophia Jahn who wrote a book about growing up with her father in the 1990s, at the family’s riding school where he spent years sexually abusing teenage girls. The first half of the series focuses on how one of the girls finally put him in prison (for a short while), the second half on how his wife and daughters broke free from his tyrannical rule years later. A compelling study in how a cult-like atmosphere at the school was allowed to persist thanks to a toxic combination of shame, misplaced loyalty, fear and alcoholism. Jonas Karlsson is convincing as the manipulative, wicked teacher.
