A DEAD BODY. A STOLEN PICASSO. AND THIS GUY.

When Fletch (Jon Hamm) finds a dead body in his rented Boston town house, he naturally becomes prime suspect in the murder investigation. More than three decades have passed since we last saw Fletch onscreen, but here’s a reboot that also serves quite well as a third chapter in the series; there’s no need to start all over with some kind of origin story. The film gets off to a terrific start and has Fletch irritating the police while trying to find a killer. Hamm plays Fletch the way Chevy Chase did (very confident, not very bright); he’s funny and carries much of the movie, whose murder mystery is routine.
