Boston, 1962; newspaper reporter Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley) starts looking into several murders of older women and finds a connection. Not a remake of the 1968 thriller, but a drama that turns the spotlight on two women whose groundbreaking reporting on the Boston Strangler also revealed an ineffective police force and the possibility that not all 13 murders were committed by the same man. Unsurprisingly, the film also shows the sexism that both reporters were subjected to. A good cast in a dark, gloomy but fairly persuasive film that tries to do justice to the victims.
