In 1998, Claire Redfield (Kaya Scodelario) heads back to Raccoon City, a place where she and her brother grew up in an orphanage; the town is still haunted. Paul W.S. Anderson was an executive producer on this reboot, but it has nothing to do with his original 2002 adaptation of the popular game. This movie stays closer to the horror roots of the game, offering many characters and ingredients that will have fans nodding in recognition. Starts out promisingly, but soon becomes duller; neither the cast nor the visual effects are satisfying.
