THERE IS ENCHANTMENT IN THE LIGHT.

In the late 1800s, two lighthouse keepers (Willem Dafoe, Robert Pattinson) arrive on an isolated island off the coast of New England and spend their days battling boredom, the weather and strange visions. Robert Eggers followed his superb horror movie The VVitch (2016) with another unsettling tale set in a rural place a long time ago, but this one is more art-house than traditional horror. Benefits from two unrestrained performances as the ”wickies” journey down a rabbit hole, and superior technical details. But as an emotional experience it gets a little dreary after a while.
